W&P Expands Partnership with City Harvest

W&P Expands Partnership with City Harvest

If you’ve been in the W&P family for a while, you’ve seen our give-back initiatives supporting City Harvest, a food rescue organization we’ve embraced since our early days. We believe everyone has the right to wholesome food, and City Harvest makes that happen for millions of New Yorkers. Their sustainability-minded food rescue efforts are near to our heart, redirecting the city’s fresh food “leftovers” to feed those in need. Less waste, less hunger, more community — City Harvest is helping to build a better world, and we’re proud to support their work.

We’re delighted to share that we’re deepening our commitment to and partnership with City Harvest. Moving forward, we will donate a portion of sales of every single purchase to City Harvest to feed families in need. On top of that, the W&P team will continue to volunteer with City Harvest at their NYC mobile markets once a quarter. On a monthly basis, we’ll share updates about how many families the W&P community has nourished, so be on the lookout for these impact reports.

Why City Harvest?

City Harvest is a NYC-based organization (like us!) that started in 1982 and works to combat food waste (also like us!). Their food rescue efforts reroute surplus food from farms, restaurants, grocers, and manufacturers to feed millions of New Yorkers who struggle to make ends meet.

In a single year, City Harvest will collect and redistribute 75 million pounds of wholesome, nutritious food to nearly 400 soup kitchens, food pantries, and other community food programs in New York City. These efforts impact our food-insecure New York neighbors, helping to fill the plates of the working mothers who have trouble making ends meet, senior citizens living on a fixed income, and families coping with unexpected medical bills.

We hope you’re as excited as we are to bolster our support of this incredible, impactful organization. To learn more about their mission and work, head to cityharvest.org.
