When the weather finally turns from winter to sunnier, "jacket optional" spring days, we know it's officially gin and tonic season. As with any simple recipe, the key to making a delicious gin and tonic is great ingredients. For the G of our G&T, we love using Hendrick's Gin, whose infusion of rose petals and cucumber pairs beautifully with Boylan Heritage Tonic. To add a seasonal twist to our G&T, we've added fresh cucumber and fragrant mint to the mix. We highly suggest doubling this recipe...you're going to want a second round.
The Spring G&T
Makes one cocktail
- 1 shot gin (we like Hendrick's)
- 1/4 shot lime juice
- 3 slices cucumber (plus 2 for garnish)
- 2 sprigs mint (plus 1 for garnish)
- Boylan Heritage Tonic
- Add the cucumber and mint to The Mason Shaker, and muddle until crushed.
- Add the lime juice and gin to the shaker. Add ice to just above the level of the liquid, and shake vigorously for 5 seconds.
- Strain the mixture into a collins glass, fill with Boylan Heritage Tonic, and garnish with remaining cucumber and mint.
